Due the end of August...

to my nephew, Paul,
his wife, Beki and

big-sister-to-be, Zoe!

Congratulations!!

My girls are so excited they bugged me every day last week to call and see when Paul and Beki were going to find out what they were having. I told them not to worry, we would be hearing from Aunt Gail as soon as the news was out. And we did. So, yep, I told the truth in every single post. We were waiting anxiously for the news, we will be buying baby girl clothes and Zoe (pictured with me in the previous post) is getting a li'l sister to love and spoil rotten. But when Beki sent me the ultrasound pictures that very night (isn't technology great?!), I felt mischievous...maybe I was lacking attention...whatever you want to call it, it was fun while it lasted. And yep, some of you were right, I was sitting here at the the computer laughing over nearly every comment. My only worry...I was holding my breath waiting for some of you to bring up the the little fact that I HAVE gained weight over the last few months.

Hope you all can sleep tonight - I actually had trouble sleeping last night if it makes you feel any better :) And just consider this a little belated April Fool's joke since I was on vacation without internet over the 1st.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

That is what my sister said when Mom left us April 21, 2007. Her namesake, Zoe Violet, was due to arrive around May 28th. We had known for some time that Paul and Beki were having a girl and what the baby's name was to be. Mom was so excited to have a great-granddaughter named after her. Several of us girls (including Beki :) were hoping that Beki wouldn't go over her due date into June. In fact, we thought it would be especially neat if Zoe was born on May 21st, exactly a month after Mom's passing.

But we heard Mom say it before and we would have heard her say it this time, "this baby wanted her own date." Zoe Violet made her debut around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, May 22nd! She weighed 7 lbx 5 oz and was 19 inches long. Zoe means "life". So incredibly fitting, don't you think?

Mother's Day and Babies

I have no photos to post and no stories to tell. Many people thought I would have a rough weekend due to the recent loss of my mom. I think the day itself didn't seem unusual because I haven't spent the last several Mother's Days with her. In reality, the preparation for the day and then the day after was worse than the actual holiday. I had a meltdown in the store when choosing a card for Tony's mom earlier in the week. Then yesterday, several times throughout the morning, I kept feeling like I'd forgotten to do something important and that it was too late to correct it. That feeling was send my mother a card or call her the day before to wish her a Happy Mother's Day.

On a happier note, we did find out over the weekend that my niece, Heather, is expecting her first child; EDD, December 13. That will make three babies in 2007 for the Fritz family! Zoe Violet (named after my mom, who knew this before she passed away and was thrilled beyond words!) is due to make her appearance just about any day. And I know her mama is hoping it's soon. Also, my niece, Lindsey, is due November 8. And then Heather in December. My camera will definitely be getting a workout :)
