Celebrate!

I received an email from my niece tonight. She and her sister and brother were very close to my parents. She has three little boys within 4 years of each other and I know that she will have moments where she will really miss having Papa come over and pray for the boys' when they are sick, etc. Here is what she had to say:

"The night of the funeral, Kasey, the kids and I were sitting down watching TV and I kept hearing a strange noise outside so I asked if he heard it. A few minutes later Kevin fell asleep so I went to go put him in the crib and the noise was louder. I ran back to the living room to put him on the couch before looking outside. I went to the kitchen window kinda scared for safety sake and saw huge fireworks, bigger than the ones they do on the 4th around here now. I took the boys out to watch and we were real quiet. I had it in the back of my mind that maybe God was telling me to celebrate, Grandpa is in Heaven! Just as that thought passed Karter looked up at me and said,"Mom, are they doing that for Papa?" Tears filled my eyes and I said if not then we can pretend. He then responded by saying that it was because Nonnie and Papa are together now. It amazes me how children catch on to the littlest things."
