Things I Learned in the last 10 Days

  1. There is only one good thing about a funeral and that is new clothes.
  2. Rest assured that whatever you and your siblings didn’t see eye to eye on while planning your mother’s funeral will not be the same things you butt heads on while planning your father’s.
  3. It is worth the extra 30 minute drive to go to a store you KNOW you are successful in finding clothes for the females in the family.
  4. If you beat your husband at miniature golf, don’t bother trying to figure who had the higher skee ball scores.
  5. It is considered adventurous to try a different restaurant even if you get the same dish you order everywhere else.
  6. One should think long and hard about whether it’s worth a sore arm for three days to lose by only 1 point at air hockey instead of 6.
  7. It’s pretty certain that your husband will forgive you for winning miniature golf if he can beat you in air hockey (refer to #s 4 and 6).
  8. It IS possible to eat carrot cake without a fork if you are desperate enough for a bite of something sweet and all plastic forks are packed in the suitcase.
  9. Three days away from your kids does not guarantee a peaceful 5 ½ hr. ride home!

Yeah, life's lessons aren't always what we think they'll be!
