Legacy Five

We took the girls to see Legacy Five last Saturday night. Tony downloaded one of their recent CDs last fall and we have learned a few of their songs. It was so cute when they sang two of the songs and started in on a third, Kerrigan turned to me and said, “Mom, do they know ALL the songs that we do?” I explained to her that we had one of their CDs on the computer (that’s a little above her head) then it made a little more sense.

During Intermission, we were finishing a snack at the concession area and Tony wanted to take the girls to ask if they would sing, “Don’t Go Swimming (in the Sea of Forgetfullness)”. I was cleaning up so told him to go on ahead. Britnee stayed with me.

He said they barely got up there. The girls were on a run and Tony had to stop them from getting in between Scott Fowler and some people that he was taking a picture for. Scott turned to thank Tony and started to head toward the auditorium. But then he backed up, looked at the girls and said, “Whoa, you guys are sure cute!” Tony told him the girls wanted to know if they were going to sing “Don’t Go Swimming”. Scott said, “We will!” and scribbled it down on his list.

We no sooner got settled up in the balcony and they started the song. When it was done, Scott said, “Where are those two little girls that requested that song?” I was trying to get Janae and Kerrigan to stand up and make themselves known but they have a little too much of their Daddy in them and were both ducking, trying to find a place UNDER the pew I think. So here I am waving and one of the other group members said, “There they are up on the shelf.” He asked their names and of course, neither girl would utter a sound. I hollered them out and he thanked us for bringing the kids out. He said they love to see families at their concerts.

We were hoping for a picture of the girls with the group but believe it or not, Kerrigan fell asleep during the second or third to the last song. She would NOT wake up for anything when it was over. Maybe next time J (We did get part of the moment on video. Tony had paused the recording not having a clue that he would single us out.)
