Just returned home from the hospital. Mom didn't have to have a total hip replacement after all. They only had to replace the ball and a little bit more. She was very disoriented when we arrived and through the evening. We got there a little after 7 pm.
She had a few visitors (Shattucks and Brewers, who were in the area for the wedding Mom and Dad were going to when the accident happened) and was trying to be very hospitable to them even in her confusion. She had trouble with "hospital psychosis" when she was in the hospital
a few years ago. So it has been noted on her chart. We hope they are able to help her through this a little better now that they know this.
Tony and I left the hospital around 9:45 and since Tony's brother, Lauren, was so gracious to come and be with the girl's at my parent's house, Tony and I decided to grab a bite to eat at Big Boy. (We miss that in Indiana :)
When we arrived home, Lauren said that Dad had called and requested we bring the CD player and some CD's as he was having trouble getting Mom settled down. We arrived back up there at 11:30 pm and Mom was sleeping. Dad said he had JUST got her settled down. She had been pretty distraught, reaching for him and calling his name.
Please pray that he is able to get some really good rest. The bed next to her is empty. They said he could use it. They are treating him like a king. He said he's getting spoiled already. Last night, he only came home between 2 a.m. and was back up at 5 a.m. But he
only got 30 minutes of rest. It is taking it's toll on him.
