A Girl's Best Friend

This post is a little belated but my arms have been a bit too full to type lengthy posts. I think Tony will understand.

When I found out I was pregnant last fall it was really no surprise when at my ultrasound they told me I was carrying another girl. Wish as we might, I have always said if I had boys they would probably turn out to be wife beaters - I don't consider myself to be top-of-the-line mother material and I know that the relationship between a mom and her son is pretty important to how he will turn out. Equally important is the relationship between a father and his daughters. Look at our little family of four girls and you have to conclude (and rightly so) that Tony is an AWESOME dad! I think God gave our girls the best.

Happy Belated Father's Day, Tony! Thanks for caring about all your girls (me included =) We often hear our Sunday School teacher, Sis. Campbell, say that her adult girls know they can call their dad anytime during the day if they need him. I know that you will be the same way when your girls are grown. And you are certainly the one they will be turning to...because you care and they know it!

Sara! You make yourself sound bad! I am sure you would of been fine with a boy--even if God did have other plans. I am sure Tony is a wonderful dad. In alot of ways him and Daniel are alike.

Nix on the "you're not the best mom material...". Baloney!

I agree about the kind of dad Tony is. Mama always said the same thing; "he sure is a good dad to those little girls... you can tell he loves them to death" and I always agreed.

Cudos to you, Tony - for taking such good care of your 5 girls~!

Such a sweet post. Trevin is standing next to me and when he saw Megyn he said, "cute baby". I had to agree with him. Of course Tony is a great dad, he's a Derscheid:)Just kidding. There are great dad's out there who are no relation.

Wow. That's an awesome tribute to Tony. Why is it that mothering makes it so easy to see your parenting weaknesses instead of strengths? I was just telling David at lunch that I don't feel I've risen very well to the specific challenges and discipline/training needs of one of our children over the past year. But at least my girls have an awesome daddy, too! I love to hear ladies brag about their men. Thanks.

By the way...those socks are AWESOME! My babies all wear preemie clothes for awhile, but we've always struggled to find socks that would stay on their tiny feet. My mom finally found a brand at Walmart in Alabama that worked pretty well. But this time I couldn't find them or remember what they were.

Eureka! I've found a new favorite brand, thanks to you. I always feel like I'm snuggling him up when I put them on him. I need to write it down in Corin's baby book or one of my pregnancy books so I'll remember what to buy for future Fry babies. Thanks so much!
