I was corresponding with a friend last night via email. I asked how to spell her youngest daughter's name. She told me and then proceeded to share the spelling of the middle name then added, "I think..I can never remember if it is 'c' or 's'..." I had to chuckle.
I began to recount a couple similar stories. Members of another family I know always have a feud about whether one of the grandson’s name is Mark Evan or Evan Mark. If I remember correctly, it was supposed to be one way and the parents changed it at the last minute. But the rest of the family still insists that it’s the other way.
The parents of one of my best friends that I grew up with debated whether her name was MaryLee or Mary Lee. I think the mom wrote it as all one word on the birth certificate but the dad said it was supposed to be two separate names.
And then I got to thinking...maybe I need to order my kid’s birth certificates. Who knows what kind of names or spellings they might really have?

When I got my kids Dan's ss #
was wrong on Eric's. I'm sure that
could happen easily
Sounds like Jeff. When we got married he didn't know if his name was spelled--Jeffrey or Jeffery. I asked his mom and it is Jeffrey. For years he would ask me everytime he had to spell it and when I would tell him he would argure with me about it!ha---I think he finally knows. Funny thing is Jordan's middle name is Allen after Jeff's middle name. Just the other day he told me he thought it was spelled Alan. Guess I never told him!ha Jeff is just now calling Jaida by the correct middle name of Noelle. The first 5 yrs. of her life he called her Jaida Nicole(which is Janae's middle name) I think we are a mixed up family!
When my mother-in-law ordered a copy of her birth certificate (she was 65 at the time) she found out that she was actually born a year earlier than she had been told. So she got to celebrate her 65th birthday twice! What woman wouldn't love to be "officially" younger????
I could never remember if Michael had the "a" or "e" first til I finally told myself to remember which came 1st in the alphabet!
