Sub Zero Chaos

My house is in complete and utter chaos. There are dishes (clean ones) all over the counter top. There are cleaning supplies covering the computer room floor. The washer and dryer sit askew in the downstairs bathroom. And there are two holes and soon to be more or at least a bigger one in that same bathroom.

The reason for all the chaos? Well, the weather has been at it's coldest the last couple of days. In effort to keep the kitchen pipes from freezing the cupboard was cleared so we could put a small space heater in it.

And this morning, in spite of our best efforts to keep it from happening, the pipe to the washer burst. Thankfully Tony was home to deal with it. And thankfully we have handyman friends who we can hire to do the repairs.

Yep, the house is in chaos. But guess what? I choose to be thankful. Why? At least I have a house! Some people in various cities and towns throughout our country aren't so lucky. And on cold days like this, I can't help but be thankful that I'm not homeless.

Sorry to hear that your house is in chaos, but at least it is fixable. Last night the Barton house didn't have heat, so we were collecting as many heaters as possible. They got it fixed this morning.

I know your "living in chaos" feeling, I do believe. It's getting to be almost normal which is kind of scary, I guess. :-)
Just seems so hard to catch up with everything at this point in my life, but I figure my kids are at that age where I want to enjoy the moments and there are things that can just wait. Priorities, priorities! :-)
Frozen pipes are no fun! So sorry.
We're getting blasted with snow again tonight. It's been snowing since noon and it's now almost 9:30 p.m. We have over a foot. Of course, you probably know how what this MI weather can be like...
You all stay warm!

I heard on the news that it was the coldest last week, that it has been in the past 12 yrs. here, ugh! Glad that week is behind us and hope there are no more like that ahead for at least another 12 yrs. : )
