What's a mother to do when she is packing three lunches and the only sweet in the house she has to offer are fruit snacks? Her youngest daughter does not like fruit snacks, so the mother is scrounging around trying to find something, anything to fill that void. Then she spies it, one fun sized pack of M&Ms that she was saving for herself today. Oh the struggle within. Of course the mother lives a few blocks from the gas station and could satisfy her own sweet tooth later in the day. But very often, when it's time for her "chocolate break" she is still in her pjs and not ready to be seen in public.
Well, in the end she does what any good mother would do and tosses the M&Ms in the lunch sack without another thought and without saying anything to anyone about the incident.
Two hours later the father returns from dropping the three girls off at school. He has a bag from CVS. Inside is a box of allergy medicine, a bag of peanut M&Ms for himself and, you guessed it, plain M&Ms for the mother! Fourteen whole ounces of chocolatey goodness when all she gave away was half an ounce!
I wonder if there will be any for the other daughter's to enjoy upon their return from school? What's your vote?

NOPE! There won't be any left! Oh, we are talking about your house not mine.....still.
Sounds delicious...maybe I should stop at the gas station today:)No, I really don't think there will be any left. Hope you enjoyed every last morsel.
Oh, I forgot to add...I got Kraft carmels for $1 a bag. I need to get home and hide them. Which does not take much~behind like the canned goods or something! :) For some reason I really have been wanting to see my MICH> friends lately. I know you are an Indiana girl now but.....wish I could see ya'll. sniffle
If your house is anything like mine, no way! :) The kiddos wouldn't have any idea that there was any chocolate in the house while they were gone! I was telling my hubby the other day that I love chocolate as much as I do because of my mom... you know, blame it on genetics. :) His retort was that it is because I'm a woman. Either way, I'm addicted!
How sweet and thoughtful of Tony! I enjoy those little, thoughtful "gifts".
If there IS any left when the girls get home from school, I think you should stash them away for yourself. Afterall, this is YOUR gift for being generous and unselfish in the first place! Now you can be selfish. :o)
I'm sure there were lots
of them left when the girls
got home, "But by bedtime... I
betcha they were all gone doggone it" :) :) :)
Oh, and Tony gets an A for the day!!
I bet you saved some for the girls knowing how thoughtful you are.
My vote is that there were some left for the girls, because when you have such a large amount and are really wanted it, it seems like you cannot eat a whole lot.
In case anyone cares...there are STILL M&Ms left in that bag a week later. Unusual for sure but I wouldn't have eaten them all in one day anyway...not 14 ounces!
Ha! Couldn't prove it by me---14oz- that's nothing--you could clear that up in no time--give Mark the peanut ones and he can clear away a 16 oz.:) You must have exercised extreme selflessness!! What a great mother! :)
