The God Who Sees Me

I'm currently using "Praying the Names of God" by Ann Spangler for my devotions (see Book By My Bed in the sidebar). This is my second week and the name I'm studying is El Roi (EL raw-EE), "the God who sees me." God was addressed as such by Hagar when she encountered Him in the desert. Interestingly, this is the only occurrence of El Roi in the Bible.

But the part that stood out to me in my reading today was the following prayer-especially the part that I've put in orange:
"Lord, I praise you for you know the whole story. From beginning to end, you see it all. Give me the humility to admit my limitations. For I don't always see the past accurately, my vision of the present is often blurred, and I am blind when it comes to the future. Help me fasten my eyes on you, trusting in your vision for my life and in your watchful care."

The words of the prayer are beautiful! My dependance upon Him is certainly great!!

It is very easy for me, to keep my focus on today and not see tomorrow. With God's help, He is teaching me that both are equally important and that I must trust Him today, for my tomorrow!
