A Very Merry Christmas, Indeed!

I won't bore you with a bunch of "opening gifts" photos that are meaningless to you :) I will be doing a full-fledged photo shoot with the girls and all their gifts later. But for now, enjoy seeing the focal point of the girl's Christmas at home.

We purchased a doll and a large item (Nikki's horse, Josefina's table & chair, and Kit's trundle bed) as a sort of investment for the girls from my parent's estate money. Then we bought them clothes and accessories from us. This was a Christmas that will undoubtedly equal no other as we don't typically spend enough to even get them an American Girl doll (not that they are lacking...that's just our choice.)

Editor's note: For those of you who have known that these have been in storage for several weeks and wondered if I would be able to keep them under wraps until Christmas, please note that we even went to Michigan and back before we opened ONE present!

Hey, at least you only have ONE girl! I'm convinced it makes a BIG difference :)

I know the girls have loved those dolls for years and wanted one very badly. Mom and Dad probably smiled down when they saw them opening them~!

How fun! My girls drool over the catalog but I'm not getting them one of those until both are old enough to really take care of them. Too many baby dolls have been written on....I think Kelcee is the culprit!

Hey, those dolls are soo cute and not trashy looking(if you know what I mean)Aren't they kind of expensive? I would love to buy some for my girls, but they always have to worry about the little ones getting to them :(. I buy the cheap dolls and we have decided to make "appropriate" clothing for them or at least try I'm no good at sewing lol!

Michelle, I think we figured that Britnee had been drooling over that catalog for at least 5 years. Yep, your girls will appreciate them more when they are older. Even Janae is getting frustrated with Josefina's long hair. I purposefully bought Kit for Kerrigan b/c her hair would be easier to work with.

Darlene, you're right...they aren't cheap thus the reason for using part of my inheritance on them. I couldn't see just giving them an American Girl doll for Christmas and nothing else in previous years. And even that is more than we typically spend on them. I've watched several on ebay over the last couple years but couldn't justify spending almost as much for a used one ($65-$75) as it cost for a new one ($87). So this was the year! Up to this point, they have had the 18" dolls from Target. Their hair has gotten a bit ratty over time but at least they are only $20 or $25 dollars.
