- I was born on the Monday before Thanksgiving, 1971, and came home from the hospital on Thanksgiving Day
- My birthdate is the absolute earliest that Thanksgiving Day can ever be
- The nurse that took care of me after I was born also took care of me 23 and 26 years later after Britnee and Janae were born
- I usurped my sister's position - baby of the family - after she'd held it for nearly 8 years Sorry, Barb! (My other siblings are 13, 15, 17 and 18 years older than me.)
- My birthday has fallen on Thanksgiving six times in my life (including this year) at ages 2, 8, 13, 19 , 30 and 36. (I don't remember 2 and 19). Age 8 is most vivid in my mind b/c both grandmother's were at our house for Thanksgiving Day which was very unusual. One grandma gave me a doll stroller and the other gave me a teacup and saucer.
- I had one major birthday party in my life, at age 10. I invited every girl in my 4th grade class except one girl. (I almost didn't live to see 11 after my mom found out!) My artistic sister drew the invitations (very pretty...wish I had a sample to share). We invited 13 people and MaryLee's mom wouldn't let her come unless Janiece could come too (that totally ticked me off-sorry Janiece but remember I was 10 so you were only 5 :) so that made 15 girls. Mom was sure they wouldn't all come so she picked us up at school in our Olds 88. Every single invitee was standing on the curb when she pulled up. We were stacked 3 deep in the back seat all the way from Vowels school to Mission Road McDonald's. My party was in the basement.
- I've only personally met two other people that share my birthdate. An older man from the community of our Elizabeth St church in Mt. Pleasant, Morris Montgomery (or was it MacGovern?) He was born in 1917 - my birth-year transposed. I found this out from reading his obituary. The other is Joy Thomas Line and we are the exact same age...she is older than me by a few hours.
I have had the card my father sent to me on my last birthday hanging in my scrapbook room all year. His personal note reads: "I remember the day we brought you home. Five brothers and sisters were anxiously waiting to hold you, 35 years ago. Wow! Our best for you. We love ya, Mom and Dad". I will treasure this card forever.

P.S. The girl that didn't get invited became my best friend the next year. How is that for a twist of fate?

Happy Birthday early! Mine is today and you're only 4 years older than me. I guess that means those grey hairs are on their way! I'm just glad you don't have any pictures of me from back then! heehee
