Never mind the fact that I craved watermelon one time at the beginning of each and every pregnancy but as soon as I would indulge, I got sick. Now the very scent of watermelon anything (bubble bath, body wash, body spray, air freshener, chap stick, etc) makes me want to puke. It really has little to do with the fact that watermelon is messy and sticky and the juice seems to land itself on every surface of the kitchen, table and chairs but you can't see it. You only find it when it has dried and you feel it!
Whatever the case may be, I took this photo a few weeks ago for the specific purpose of proving that once in a great while, I hold my breath, line the counter with layers of trash bag, cookie sheet, grocery bag and paper towel and take on the monstrous task of cubing a watermelon. All for the express pleasure of my children's tastebuds. And to prove that I AM a good mom.

Well, that proves it to me that you are a good mom! :) It took me years to start enjoying eggs again due to the same reason.
There isn't a food I dislike because of pregnancy but there are 2 certain scents. One is cucumber melon - GAG me! It was really popular at Bath and Body Works when I was pregnant with Steven and it happened to be my SIL's favorite scent at the time so I had bought some for her for Christmas. Needless to say, I could smell that stuff through the package so my living room smelled like it and it made me nauseous! To this day it makes me nauseous. The other scent Liz Claiborne "Curve" perfume. At least I don't have to prove that I'm a good mom with these items....until, of course, the girls are older and cucumber melon becomes their favorite scent!. Then I might have to put my foot down.
Okay, I thought you were talking to OUR mom! She would have looked at that picture and wanted a fork! I think it was the mainstay of her diet the last 4-6 months of her life!!! So, no pun intended, but, "Good, Mom"!
P.S. I am proud of you - I HATE sticky too~~~~~

WOW! Thank you Lord that nothing made me sick! I did not suffer from that at all! I have the pounds to prove it! We eat watermemon-outdoors then the kids get sprayed off! I am not a good mom I don't think!:)
Yep, Sherry, that's when we used to eat it too...outside during the summer months :)
YEAH!!!! Good for you and good for the girls, they got their watermelon, LOL! It is a sticky mess, but just to see the smiles on their faces is worth it all! We all LOVE watermelon, so I guess it isn't as bad of a job as it could be for me. Way to go Mama Sara : )
P.S. You didn't need to do this to prove you are a good mom, we already know you are! I just like to tease you.
