My Front Porch

I've wanted a flag pole for years. Asked for it for every gift occasion since we lived in Michigan. I finally gave up. But last year I saw a flag on clearance at Menard's that I dearly loved and had to have. So I bought it hoping that by "next" fall I'd have a pole installed. A few months later I found a nice bracket on clearance at Meijer. Finally this summer, I got the pole and Tony was so kind to put it up (thanks to the impending arrival of his parents that night :) Since it wasn't quite time for the fall flag and I couldn't find anything else I like, for now it holds an American flag - in memory of my father (Tony's suggestion) which will be replaced with a Colt's flag on certain days (also Tony's suggestion :) as soon as it arrives in the mail.

The mums are a sweet gift from my husband who has finally learned that fall is my favorite season. He shocked me the other day when he mentioned it! I guess I just figured that little detail that wasn't going to sink in after 14 years. He even spent a few extra bucks to get the mums in a cute little basket rather than just a black pot. Thank you, Tony! You're the best!

How sweet! I love fall also -- Saturday when it was dreary and rainy out, I lit a Baked Apple Pie candle, stayed inside and pretended it was fall. I nearly had myself convinced.....Love the flag, the mum and your porch!

As soon as Kallee seen these pictures, she said "that's Tony's house"! Pretty good since you can't even see all the house. Of course Tony's her buddy, so eveything he has is great : )
