Definition of a Friend

My sister has been having a bit of a difficult time with our recent losses. She is the one who found Dad after his passing. Her family has moved several times in the last few years and just recently "settled" into a new church. She has never been one to have many friends and I'm sure that the recent moves and new church haven't helped along that measure as of lately. She sent this in an email today.

"I was doing some thinking this morning trying to put some thoughts on paper, when this "new beatitude" occurred to me...(I hope you don't think me sacreligious for writing my own beatitude)."

Blessed are they who allow others to mourn in their presence, for they shall be called..."Friend".

I am blessed to have those I can call "friend".

I, too, am blessed to have "friends". I had the actual experience of sitting in one of my girlfriends kitchens crying my head off the other day. She told me that because I could do that, I would probably eventually be healthier than those (like her) that couldn't.
