Unless you can actually “hear” Kerrigan’s voice saying this, you may not fully understand the hilarity of this reading.
The other day, Kerrigan brought home her first Scripture verse. In A Beka Kindergarten they learn a Scripture verse for every letter of the alphabet. The verse was, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
After going over and over the verse, we quickly concluded that Kerrigan is most likely NOT an auditory learner. She was having extreme difficulty getting the “and come short” part of the verse sandwiched between “all have sinned” and “glory of God”.
Well, knowing that she likes music I thought maybe if I put it to song it would help. I came up with a catchy tune and sang, “All - have sinned and come short…of the glory of God.” I should have known better…Kerrigan has her Poppie’s knack for changing up the lyrics to songs! But I held my breath waiting for her to finally grasp the missing phrase. Imagine my surprise when she confidently burst forth with, “All - of the king’s court…” Needless to say, Britnee, Janae and I could NOT contain our laughter. We laughed and then laughed even harder when we heard her little voice say, “Well, I was hoping to make someone laugh. I wanted to do some comedy…whatever comedy is!”
