Seeking Responsive Audience

Tonight, Tony doled out specific things for the girls to look up in preparation for devotions tomorrow night. He wanted the girls to work together and find a story about light. They already knew one. So he asked what one. Janae proceeded to tell us about Saul being struck by light and going blind. Kerrigan piped up and said she knew one too, “It’s a movie!” “About Thomas…” I prompted, knowing that she wasn’t in the Bible but proud of her knowledge of history. “Edison!” was her quick reply. We all applauded her efforts.

Since the other girls told us many particulars of the story of Saul, I gave them a few additional details to bring with them tomorrow.

#1 What did Saul have on his eyes?

#2 What road was he on?

#3 Who did God send to talk to him?

Kerrigan thought she knew the answer to the last question. Since she is only 5 and I didn’t really think she knew, I figured it would be okay for her to share her guess. She sat on the couch arm for a minute and then said, “I need a hint.” We all laughed. But apparently our appreciation of her comment wasn’t enough, since the next comment said under her breath was, “Too bad Shamu and Fafa weren’t here.”

Farfar and Shamu wish they could have been there! I'm so thrilled with your style of devotions. We're praying for you. Keep up the great job, Tony and Sara! We love you and are praying for you!

I, too, love your style of devotions. They seem to be very interested, which is the real key when they are young. (And even more so, when they get a little older!)

Seems to me that Kerrigan is doing most of the talking lately!
